This instrument is in good condition for its about 35 years of age. The work is typical for the production of Joël Mentec’s workshop in Firminy.

Joël Mentec’s double basses are well known in orchestras and music schools in France. They are of solid construction, and the materials used are of good quality.

The top is made of good quality spruce and the back, neck, scroll and sides are made of flamed maple.

This double bass is currently being restored.

This double bass is a good choice for the advanced student.
