Its style suggests a German origin from around the 1900’s.
The workmanship is excellent and the wood is spectacularly figured.

General condition / Etat général :

This double bass is in an excellent general condition. The restoration work seems to be well executed. Unfortunatly, the instrument has been entirely revarnished, making it very difficult to identify it accuratly. Even if the result is convincing, the instrument has lost a bit of its original identity.
This double bass has a reasonably powerfull sound with good depth, for a reduced price. Its dimensions make it very suitable for orchestral use, and fairly well adapted for a jazz player.
